The Berry school will include lectures from international experts on the following topics:

  • Quantitative genetics, MAS and genomic selection
  • New breeding techniques
  • Environmental effects on plant growth and development, and adaptation of production to climate change
  • Plant physiology and nursery/crop planning
  • Pest and disease control
  • Fruit quality (sensorial/nutritional/nutraceutical) and consumer science
  • Field visit to UPM breeding program

VIRTUAL BERRY SCHOOL Virtual training course on berry science and technology

The school will be held virtually on the Symposium Platform and will include a virtual visit to the D3A-UPM Strawberry field.

The program will be defined by the scientific committee and will be addressed to students, young scientists and technical staff from public institutions or enterprises and will focus on basic and applies scientific knowledges related to strawberry production.
